Ratatouille

This series was inspired by the Pixar movie Ratatouille. I love the whole vibe of the film from the music, to the art style, to the main message that everyone should continue pursuing their passion no matter what stands in the way. And not to mention, I love all of the cooking and food in the movie! Which is why, I wanted to create a series inspired by Ratatouille.

Retro Summer Series

Retro Summer Series

For my mini portfolio, I decided to photograph a series focused on happiness and light. When I think of these two words, the first thing that comes to mind is summer. Therefore, I chose to shoot a retro inspired summer series that creates a vibrant, warm, mood using unique lighting.  For the first image, I shot a still life with lemonade. I used warm colors such as yellow and orange, as well as natural window lighting. The second image, I shot a portrait using a star filter to catch the reflection of the sun in sunglasses. For the last image, I shot a record player lit up by rainbow reflections that were created by a rainbow window film. Each of the images consist of unique lighting all created by the sun, which gives them a warm, summer vibe.

Design and Fruit

For this series, I wanted to combine multiple forms of art to create something new and unique. I took inspiration from Matisse’s artwork, magazine covers, Andy Warhol’s work, and still life photographs using fruit, shape, and design.

Cloud 9

For this series, the photos were taken by both me and Nico Cariati, each edited differently to create our own unique series.

City of Angels

This past summer I went to LA for the first time and took hundreds of images. After coming home and editing all these photos, I found that many of them were alike, making it easy to put them into several series. Here, are the 4 series that emerged.

Nanna and I

For my second year portraiture series, I focused on telling the story of my Nanna and I. It centres around themes of family, connection despite distance, and genetics. I combined older images of my Nanna with more modern portraits of me, to create a newly combined version of both.

50’s Ads

In this series, I wanted to create a darkly humoured, vintage housewife series based on the older advertisements that often displayed sexism and rude comments about women. I developed the set and story for each of these three women, who may seem like perfect housewives, but have a hint of mystery and murder behind their facades.
